Hi there, nice to meet you! 😊
PEOPLE IGNORE DESIGN THAT IGNORES PEOPLE
Before moving into creative, design, and marketing, I excelled in luxury retail management with brands like Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany & Co., where I led sales teams, provided client advisory, and managed operations. Currently, at Alaska Airlines, I support over 20,000 employees and lead design for Learning & Development, overseeing the leaders' portal, employee portals, career websites, videos, job aids, PDFs, banners, and marketing for development programs.
My experience spans tech, manufacturing, aerospace, health & wellness, logistics, retail, and non-profits. In my recent role as a UX Designer & Marketing Manager at Xemelgo, a IoT SaaS company who produces solutions for manufacturers. I led B2B product design for both mobile and web apps. I also spearheaded marketing initiatives including entire e-commerce landing page revamp, all marketing collateral redesign, app store preview images campaign, Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning dashboard designs for manufacturing customers, landing us a $3 Million dollar deal to one of their biggest customers. I’ve also worked as a UX designer for major U.S. non-profits.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in ethnic studies with a minor in informatics: design & technology from the University of Washington.
Mentorship & giving back
I currently mentor other designers on ADPList.org
I provide guidance and support to UX designers, giving them the feedback, tools, and confidence they need to thrive in their careers. Session topics include breaking into tech, interview prep, design tools, and best practices, effectively giving and receiving feedback, and resume and portfolio review.
Over the course of my careers, I've been fortunate to have more than 100 mentors, each of whom has shaped my careers in meaningful ways. I believe deeply in the power of knowledge sharing. Some of the advice they offered may have seemed small to them at the time, but certain sentences still resonate with me to this day. Now, as a mentor myself, I’m committed to giving back and helping others reach a place of confidence and fulfillment in their own careers.
In 2018, I mentored first-generation, low-income high school students with interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
For Making Connections at the University of Washington.
I dedicated 6 hours a month to a high school mentee by providing motivation and support as they prepare for college. (March 2018 to August 2018)
Students participated in marketing, UX research, and design workshops. We interacted with a panel of 98point6 staff.
